Want to see the iconic cherry blossoms in Vancouver Canada for yourself? I’ve explored the top places for Cherry Blossoms in Vancouver  myself over the past 5 years and these are definitely the prettiest! The timing for when all the various types of Cherry Blossom are in bloom changes year on year but it’s definitely worth the extra planning!

When is the best time to see the Cherry Blossom in Vancouver?

Usually the best time to see the cherry blossoms in Vancouver is the last week of March to mid April. Cherry blossoms only bloom for just a couple of weeks, so the window where you’ll find them is quite limited, but very possible with some planning in advance! The 50 types of varieties of cherry blossom all tend to peak at slightly different times, if you’re wanting a specific kind or just want to know when they’re at their best, Vancouver Cherry Blossom festival has created a map.

The Cherry Blossom Captial of Canada: Vancouver

Here are my top recommendations for the top 10 places to see the Cherry Blossoms in Vancouver, Canada.

Vancouver City Hall Cherry Blossoms

The City hall is one of the more underrated areas to go for Cherry Blossoms. It is a professional work building so please do be mindful of that. The trees are dotted around the building itself so be sure to enjoy the city views in the distance when walking around.

Granville Square Cherry Blossoms

If you’re obsessed with Cherry Blossoms and snow capped mountains this spot is a dream. At Waterfront train station there is an outside picnic area with a ton of benches and a panoramic view of North Vancouver. You get views of Grouse Mountain in amongst the cluster of cherry blossom trees which is the perfect spot for a morning cup of tea. You can get up super close to these trees so it makes for a perfect spot for taking photos at.

Pine & 3rd Cherry Blossoms

This is probably my favourite spot because I love the darker pink cherry blossoms. A long row of cherry blossoms line both sides of the road all the way along 3rd however the Pine and 3rd intersection is the prettiest. Sunset is the best time of day for this spot as the light comes through the trees!

Kitsilano Pool Cherry Blossoms

The cherry blossoms at Kitsilano Pool will also give you a peek of the city skyline behind the trees. The cherry blossoms create a lovely arching canopy over the path, this is a beautiful spot but also gets super busy so come early to avoid the crowds.

David Lam Park Cherry Blossoms

In 2010 the City of Vancouver planed 100 cherry blossom trees here to celebrate hosting the Winter Olympics! David Lam is one of the best places which is super close to downtown to see them. Photo opportunities are endless but my favourite is by the tennis and basket ball courts as the cherry blossoms form a canopy there.

Yew & 22nd Cherry Blossoms

This may be one of Vancouver’s most Instagramable spots in the Cherry Blossom season. This spot is a little further out compared to the rest but makes for a great photography spot! It gets super crowded in the day so you’ll need to come early if you’d like to have it quieter. The cherry blossoms span for several blocks down the street and create the most gorgeous canopy.

Stanley Park Cherry Blossoms

There are a few spots in Stanley Park where you can view the Cherry Blossoms and they’re all pretty close together. The Japanese Canadian War Museum has walk walks covered by a canopy of blossoms. Then you can head to the trees near the rose garden, and around the edge of the Lost Lagoon. This is a beautiful area and worth taking some extra time to explore if you have the time.

Burrard Skytrain Station Cherry Blossoms

This is a super pretty spot in the heart of downtown to view the cherry blossom cluster the edges of the park. Burrard station is a popular spot for commuters Monday to Friday so definitely keep that in mind when visiting. Though this is a skytrain station busses are popular next to it as well. Come early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Granville Island Cherry Blossoms

This location is Creekside Park, just a 5 minute walk along the seawall from Granville Island. If you’re interested in having the city background and Cherry Blossoms then this is the spot!

Burrard Bridge can be seen in the distance here which makes for a lovely spot capturing the city, mountains and harbour all in one shot.
